Answering Pilot Questions

When you train as many pilots as I have, it's inevitable that I get requests for aircraft specific information, as prospective pilots consider buying a Malibu or Meridian. When I was beginning my training business, I used to have the time to talk about the airplane on the phone or answer all the questions emailed to me. However, as I’ve become busier, it has become unfeasible to stop training to accept phone calls about the airplane and its mission capabilities. Since I still get lots of questions, I have created a one-on-one, fee-based program, which can be purchased in 30 minute increments.

Since starting Executive Flight Training, I've acquired a vast amount of information about the Piper PA46 line of airplanes. While much of that is ending up in a training workbook that I am currently writing, my continuous instructional activity in the airplane has brought me in contact with hundreds of owners and pilots. This has increased my knowledge base exponentially across a broad spectrum of operational parameters.

What are some typical questions that I have been asked?

• Is the aircraft right for my type of flying?
• Can I get insurance with my experience level?
• How much weight can it carry?
• Is it difficult to transition from another kind of airplane?
• How much does it cost to operate?
• Is maintenance expensive?
• How much should I pay for one?
• Where can I get a good pre-buy inspection?

FEE SCHEDULE

Airplane Specific Consulting:

• Purchase consulting time in advance in 30 minute blocks for $100.
• You can use your time as one 30-minute block, or in two 15-minute blocks.

Procedures:

• Contact me by e-mail (dscarmody@safepilot.com) and schedule a consulting time slot at least 24 hours prior to your call. I only offer consulting services between 5:00PM - 8:00PM EST, Monday - Saturday. In your email, outline you area of interest so I can prepare for your call.
